Nostalgia

A catalogue design on the occasion of the exhibition Portraits of Nectarios Papanicolaou at the Ileanna Tounta Contemporary Art Center. Nectarios Papanicolaou studied photography at Parsons School of Design, both in Paris and in New York where he also exhibited his work. In his work, as influenced by Pictorialism, he tends to 'blur' reality rather than simply record it. He creates images that softly escape the present, aiming to create and project an emotion into the viewer's imagination. A number of his photographs can be found in major art collections such as The Henry Buhl Collection, Sotheby's New York, Max Mara, New York, and Dakis Joannou Collection, Deste Foundation, Greece. Represented by Sarah Morthland Archives, New York and Ileanna Tounta Contemporary Art Center, Athens.
